Steven McKay is º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s chief executive officer. He leads the firm’s executive leadership team and is a member of the board of directors. He collaborates with senior leadership to craft the firm's business strategy and elevate º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ design. A native of Scotland, Steven joined º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s Seattle office in 1996, and was the firm’s design leader from 2005 to 2020. He was instrumental in º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ being an early adopter of the 2030 Challenge, and an initial signatory of both the AIA 2030 Commitment and the China Accord. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects; senior fellow and board member of the Design Futures Council; and serves on the Architectural Advisory Council for the Iowa State University College of Design.

John Fuller leads º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s operations around the globe as chief operating officer. He is a member of the executive leadership team and board of directors. John directs the firm’s operational resource management, business practices, design tools and processes, and project execution to enable design teams to elevate human experience through design. He collaborates with region, design discipline, client sector, and enterprise leaders to execute the firm’s business strategy, technical quality, project performance, and operational efficiency. He was previously the firm’s chief marketing officer and has spent his entire professional career at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½.

Peter Rutti is º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s chief design officer and a member of the firm’s executive leadership team. He guides the firm in fulfilling its vision to elevate the human experience through design. With a relentless focus on design excellence and sustainability, Peter ingrains º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s integrated design process in every project team. He is deeply committed to fulfilling the firm’s climate and environment commitments through innovative, functional, measurable, and beautiful design. Peter is a passionate advocate for employee-ownership and has been a faculty associate and juror at the Design School of Arizona State University for more than a decade.

Pamela Touschner is a member of the board of directors and executive leadership team. As California Region Leader she manages offices in Los Angeles, Riverside, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and Sonoma. Pamela is an advocate for the profession, serving on the national AIA Board of Directors and in multiple leadership positions for AIA Los Angeles, AIA Inland Empire, and the AIA California Council. She is active in promoting diversity, inclusion, and belonging within the architectural community as a dedicated member of the National Organization of Minority Architects at the national level and with the Southern California NOMA chapter.

Ruairi leads the Smart Building practice, which uses high performance design; energy modeling; advanced building simulations; and real performance data to deliver optimal performance for owners and occupants. He pioneered sonrai IAQ by º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½, a platform that collects, analyzes, and visualizes building performance data.

Patrick leads theater design for the firm by planning spaces and designing systems for the arts to support a wide range of performances. He and his team focus on how patrons will interact with the building, and how performers and technicians can ultimately use the space.

Lana leads º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s civil engineering team. An accomplished engineer and site planner, she is an expert in site selection, evaluation, and planning. With a dual education in architecture and engineering, she mentors civil engineers about integrated design from a multidisciplinary point of view.

William leads the Design Technology Research team within Research & Development to propel design innovation and project delivery. He researches and directs the testing and evaluation of emerging design technologies and workflows to advance the firms’ integrated design process.

Brian leads our global Mixed-Use sector. He collaborates with developers, real estate brands, and city officials to reimagine retail, housing, and office as equitable mixed-use developments to reenergize urban environments. For more than 30 years, he has led teams in the U.S., Dubai, and Shanghai.

Don leads our Sports sector. He was named a Power Player by Sports Business Journal for his influence in the industry and is one of the most respected sports architects in the country. He excels in leading professional and collegiate clients through the design process to elevate the athlete and fan experience.

David leads º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s Global Transportation Sector, leveraging his Civil Engineering and Urban Planning expertise in the planning and design of people mobility and goods movement systems. With over 36 years in the transportation and urban design industry, he understands the interrelationship between transportation, land use, and development. His holistic perspective unlocks the full potential of our horizontal and vertical built projects.

Dan brings an attitude of discovery and innovation to his leadership and projects. His clients include the University of Nevada Reno, Heard Museum, and SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. Dan has served as an educator at Arizona State University and sits on the Western Museums Association board of directors.

Lihong directs all º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ operations in Asia. He joined the firm in 2013 to establish the Shanghai office. He is responsible for growing º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½â€™s presence with developers and commercial, cultural, and education clients in China.

Jamal is responsible for design and client services throughout the Middle East, leading operations from the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ Dubai office. He has practiced extensively in the Middle East, leading the successful delivery of high-profile projects in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.  

Curtis leads firm operations, client services, and staff development for our offices in Des Moines, Iowa; and Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska. His design work impacts thousands of students and teachers every day in schools throughout the Midwest, guiding school districts through project development.
